The H-Sphere control panel will be upgraded to version 3.5 which introduces many bug fixes and enhancements.

H-Sphere 3.4 introduces Windows 2008 RS with IIS7.5

During the upgrade, the control panel will be unavailable.

Temporary Email Slowdown

The email service is currently running slower than usual. You may see intermittent connections to the mail server while we work on bringing it back to normal speed.

Addition of Redundant Firewalls

We will be adding a new pair of redundant firewalls to protect our network. These firewalls will act as a master/backup pair in case one of them ever fails.

Important Notice About Today’s Downtime

At approximately 1:30PM EST (GMT -5:00), connectivity to our datacenter was lost causing all services to be offline. Construction work on highway 40 in Montreal caused a fiber cut which brought down most datacenters in the west of the Montreal island. Workers are currently on site to fix the fiber and bring back connectivity.

Current ETA is 1 hour. Unfortunately, the problem is out of our control therefore we cannot do anything to remediate to this any faster.

If we receive any updates, we will post them on this page.

Please accept our apologies for this unexpected downtime.

UPDATE #1 – 5:52PM EST

New updated ETA from engineers currently on-site. Connectivity is expected to be restored by 9:00PM EST.

UPDATE #2 – 7:05PM EST

The problem has finally been resolved. Connectivity to the datacenter has been restored and all services are operational.

H-Sphere 3.4 introduces Windows 2008 with IIS7, SQL Server 2008 and ASP.NET 4.0.

During the upgrade, the control panel will be unavailable.

Corporate Website Maintenance

Our website, including the helpdesk and client portal will go down for maintenance. This will not affect any client’s website.

Routine Cluster Maintenance

Linux and Windows servers across our cluster will undergo security fixes and updates. Each server will be rebooted to apply the changes to the operating systems. All services will be affected by the reboots including Mail, SQL and Web servers.

This maintenance will prepare the cluster for the upcoming H-Sphere 3.4 update which introduces Windows 2008, IIS7, ASP.NET 4.0 and SQL 2008.

IP Migration

Royalty Networks will undergo an IP migration. The process will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete and downtime is expected during most parts of the migration.

In some cases, users will be required to make minor changes due to the IPs changing. Here are some examples:

If your database connection string uses the server IP, please change it to use the hostname of the server instead.
If your email form uses the mail server IP, please change it to the hostname.
If you registered your own name server at your registrar, you will need to edit the IPs of each name server.
If you use an external DNS service, you will be required to update your records with the new IPs.

The below PDF document will show each of our servers with the old IP and the new IP to be assigned to it.
